Moving to Braselton: A Newcomer's Guide
By Ryan and Sarah Ramdass, Home Luxx Realty Group at UC Premiere Properties
Vineyards, a racetrack, four counties, and serious growth. What out-of-state buyers should understand before picking Braselton.
01 A town that grew up around a winery
Braselton traces its history to the 1880s, but the modern chapter started when Chateau Elan planted its first vines in the early 1980s. Today the 3,500-acre resort anchors a town of roughly 18,000 people that is still growing fast.
Newcomers quickly discover a place that feels like a boutique town: winery tastings, golf, motorsports at Road Atlanta, and a historic downtown that was deliberately revitalized.
02 The four-county catch
Braselton is one of the only towns in Georgia that sits in four counties at once: Jackson, Barrow, Gwinnett, and Hall. Your school district, property taxes, and even emergency response numbers can change street by street.
Never assume a Braselton address means one school district. We verify the exact property address and its district before you fall in love with a home.
03 Commute math
Braselton sits about 45 miles northeast of Atlanta along I-85. In return for the drive you get newer homes, larger lots, and prices that run below closer-in Gwinnett communities.
For many buyers the trade is worth it, especially those with hybrid schedules or jobs in the northern metro.
04 Where to start house hunting
New construction dominates on the Jackson County side, while established neighborhoods line the Gwinnett and Hall edges. Budgets stretch further near the downtown, closer to shops and civic life.
Give us your must-haves and we will map the neighborhoods that match, across all four counties.
Thank you,
Ryan and Sarah
